Harris Poll Shenanigans

So after a night of anger and about half of a fifth of Jack Daniels, I decided to go over to the Harris Poll website just to see how close Michigan actually was to getting into the BCS title game, and what do I find? Most of the voters had OSU, Florida, and Michigan in the top three....but some people showed that they really are just a bunch of assholes who really have no right voting in these polls. Let's spotlight these idiots....

Since I am trying as best as I can to be un-biased....let's look at the morons who ranked Florida outside of the top three....

So this idiot is of the "equal opportunity" crew apparently and thinks that just because Boise State is undefeated they should be number two. I love these people. I mean I'm sure Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida would have had a real tough time with the death march Boise State had to make through the WAC. Tough stuff....

Robert is not only a Big Ten slappy, WISCONSIN AT THREE....please, but apparently he was also impressed with Louisville's big win over a battle tested UCONN team at home. I hate to say it but Louisville would have lost 2-3 games in the SEC or the Big Ten, the Big East just wasn't that good. I guess that makes me a hater but so be it....

As you can see there were only a couple of morons when it came to screwing with Florida's ranking...but as expected, more then a couple of voters decided that they were going to take it upon themselves to make sure Florida was in the title game by screwing with Michigan's ranking in some great ways. Way to take your right as a voter seriously assholes.....

I've already gone over my disdain for the Big East, but how about we look at this one on merit shall we? Michigan beat two BCS Top 10 teams, one on the road. Louisville? None. Michigan lost to the number one team on the road by a field goal. Louisville lost to the 16th ranked team on the road by a field goal. Now if I were to use logic instead of having my head up my ass....I would see that Michigan's resume is better then Louisville's...but I'm not Ray Melick.

Apparently a two loss USC team that just lost to a 7-5 UCLA is better then a one loss Michigan team whose only loss is to the team that's number one in your own damn ranking. This idiot's fifth ranked team is also Oklahoma, which tells you all you really need to know. I really hope he was just doing this because he was manipulating his ballot to keep Michigan out....because if he wasn't then I weep for our education system....

What's with all the love for the Big East? Was Louisville's thrashing of UCONN really that impressive? Maybe I just watch to much football or something when I should just be watching the Big East only, maybe that will open my eyes to the brilliance of Louisville's dominance. I mean they have big wins over West Virginia (who lost to South Florida by the way) and...um....okay well that's all I've got.....

Sorry Ohio State...your undefeated season means nothing to Jim Walden. Maybe if you had lost to Auburn by two scores without giving up an offensive touchdown (no small feat) then you may be good enough to be number one. Until then you just have to be happy with being number two. Way to not lose a game Ohio State. Jim Walden is not impressed. Also this moron has LSU at 11 and WAKE FOREST at 7....which means that Florida's biggest victory is actually of less value in his eyes then Ohio State's....but still not impressed Buckeyes....lose to Florida and maybe Walden will give you that first place vote....

And there you have it....this is the system we have in place for big time college football. These morons are in charge. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!!! I would say we need a playoff system but if these guys were voting on who is in then I don't even know if that's a solution. Perhaps we should gives these guy's an IQ test and then, you know, ask them some college football questions before we hand over the voting slip. Maybe I'm just crazy though.....
